Hopefully, this doesn't include any sort of Pay2Win mechanics or cash-shops, and they maintain their stance as a game that tries to revisit the classics. Interestingly, the game is releasing as a free to play title, and we aren't sure how Nepos plans to monetize the game. There hasn't been a new isometric city builder for some time now, and Nebuchadnezzar certainly seems like it's going to deliver an excellent gaming experience. To top it all off, there's multi-language support for modding! The additional ability to mod in a city builder is groundbreaking, and it really hints at a level of success that the title could can achieve within different gaming communities where players value the ability to replay the game with new and interesting player-driven mods. The developers have decided to offer modders all of the tools they need to create new production chains, buildings, goods and campaigns or even missions. One thing that really sets Nebuchadnezzar apart from other city builders being produced today: the mods. It’s refreshing to see this kind of variety, and it's really cool to see a studio that values this type of classic game with a penchant for historical accuracy and education. In some missions, players will need to eliminate historically notable foes and heroes, in others they will need to create important and historically relevant cultural monuments. Nepos has said that they would like for players to be able to learn about and revisit several different types of historical objectives, creating a more engaging and dynamic experience for players that want to learn about history and have the option to win in different ways. The campaign will cover most of Mesopotamian history, and every mission will focus on a different time-period. The main campaign spans more than 12 missions at launch, and will provide the player with a wide variety of historical events to experience. Players can also trade with other cities and even focus on diplomacy, while also focusing on their own economy, trying to build it up on their own within the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. As soon as Mesopotamia adopts various industries, the player will need to rule wisely and make strategic decisions in order to keep the city growing and operating successfully. Starting off, players will need to attract dwellers to the city by creating roles and jobs that the citizens can fulfill. The game is setup in typical phases that city-building fans will be very accustomed to, and is sure to quench the thirst of gamers who have been wanting for a historical city-builder. Most of the player's time in both Free Play and the Campaign will be comprised of trying to make the city flourish and blossom, while avoiding financial problems or making citizens unhappy. Nepos has opted to give players the choice between a Free Play game-style, or the main Campaign, where the the player will follow the history of Mesopotamia and experience one of, if not the most influential periods of advancement in history. Focusing on this important period of history is sure to win over history buffs interested in the genre. Setting a city builder in Ancient Mesopotamia is important, as many inventions like the wheel, and writing (cuneiform script) first appeared in Ancient Mesopotamia around 3000 BCE. Nebuchadnezzar is an isometric city builder that tasks players with maintenance and growth of ancient Mesopotamia's infrastructure and culture. At its core, Nebuchadnezzar is similar to the classic Ancient City Builders, but it also offers some new features and quality-of-life advances that will appeal to the modern gamer. Nepos Games is trying to change the pace with their upcoming release of Nebuchadnezzar, a city builder set in Ancient Mesopotamia, Earth's first known civilization. Today's city builders tend to focus on space exploration or modern city simulation. Have you ever played Pharaoh, or the Ceasar series?
